Stone Work References

Sometimes it can be hard to see the colours and tones of the natural product in a photo. I am always available to meet you onsite to consult with you about the type, colour and lay style of stone to suit your dwelling or project. In doing this I can bring out samples of different stones for you to look through and talk you through the different stages of laying the stone.

If you want to view examples of our work to see the different types of stone, colours and lay styles through your own eyes, please visit and view our work directly from the road at the following addresses:

Stone and Join Type: Gibbston dry stackWe are very pleased customers of David Planjar (Creative Stonz). We initially had a schist stone letter box crafted by Dave and his team that we were so impressed by we had him back to complete our front entrance with a feature wall at our Mellons Bay home.Dave proved himself to be honest, reliable and always friendly. He listened to our personal requests and took pride in his work, which was definitely reflected in the final product.

We highly recommend Dave and his team for any Stone creations. We love the work he has done for us and have had many comments on how amazing our stone work looks.

Yours sincerely
Aaron and Kylie Young

Mangawhai
Stone and Join Type: Glen Ida dry stackI live at Mangawhai and the house looks north over a large valley. We had a single wooden post out on the deck, supporting the roof corner, and needed to hide it somehow. David built a beautiful schist stone column around it and then had the brilliant idea of wrapping a corner of the house in schist on two sides to make it look like another column. We therefore ended up with two terrific columns and the house now has a satisfying “Queenstown” quality to it. David came when he said he would, did the job without delay (early finish when the surf was up), kept the worksite clean, and priced the job just as he promised he would. Aside from the incessant “tap-tap-tap” of the mason’s hammer, his team was very considerate and careful. Happy to recommend him to you.Donn Olsson

Stone Work Testimonials

“We wish to thank Dave for the stonework he did on our fireplace and chimney.
We are pleased with the result and impressed by the consistency between the inside and outside despite the four year gap between the two jobs.
It was also no problem for Dave to accommodate our last minute changes.
We found him and his colleagues to be reliable and considerate while working in our home.”

“When our first mail box of pre-fabricated stone sections first began to disintegrate and then collapsed after being hit by a car, Creativestonz came to our rescue.
After laying proper stable foundations they crafted a really good-looking box out of beautiful real stone.
As well as being very easy on the eye it is also very solid and anything that hits it this time will come off second best!
Throughout the process the team was helpful, informative, accommodating, punctual, creative and a pleasure to work with.”

“Does on time on budget and fantastic workmanship still exist? It definitely does with these guys!
It couldn’t be easier to give these craftsmen a glowing recommendation as they are all the above and more. In my situation they definitely turned a sows ear into a silk purse!
Call Dave and have a yarn – you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks again to you and your crew from one very happy customer.”

Creative Stonz Limited supplied and constructed all of the stone work, using Wanaka Schist, for the Riddell Family Trust residential property located in Spinnaker Bay, Beachlands; Auckland.
Dave and the Creative Stonz team were an absolute pleasure to work with and have onsite; the entire team takes a real pride in the finished outcome. During the construction Creative Stonz made several suggestions to enhance the appearance of the completed project, in all cases we accepted their recommendations and the finished look is real testament to their vision, knowledge and skills in this field. Their professionalism, flexibility and innovation before, during and following the project far exceeded our expectations on all fronts. The work was completed on time and within budget.
Accordingly we have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Creative Stonz, (Dave and his team) to anyone contemplating using stone work on their building project. On any future development we undertake either on behalf of the trust or personally this company will be our first port of call.
